WHAT IS A NATIONAL JAMBOREE? The National Jamboree is a ten day event that is held every 3-5 years. Since 2013 the National Jamboree has been hosted at the Summit Bechtel Reserve in West Virginia, a national high adventure base that was built specifically for this event. Scouts from all 50 states, and even youth from overseas BSA Troops are in attendance.
The Summit is home to world class facilities with every activity a Scout could dream of. The Summit is a few miles away from the New River Gorge National Park where Scouts will have the opportunity to go whitewater rafting, in addition to all of the other activities offered.
The Chippewa Valley Council is planning a trip to the National Jamboree and hopes to plan for a full day in Washington, DC before the start of the event. We are tentatively planning on trip dates of July 19 – August 1, 2026, but exact dates and costs are yet to be determined. If you are interested in learning more, and to see a gallery of photos and videos from the last Jamboree be sure to visit our registration / information page for more information.
