Support Scouting

There are many ways to support Scouting in the Chippewa Valley Council. You may volunteer to be a leader or committee member, buy popcorn from a Scout, include Scouting in your estate plan, make a donation to Friends of Scouting, or give a gift a supplies or building materials to camp.

The Chippewa Valley Council is committed to providing our Scouts with the highest quality program. This commitment comes from our belief that together we can make a difference in the life of a boy. Scouting is a time-tested, family-centered program that really does develop strong values, strong leadership and character that counts.

WHAT IS FOS?

It is our annual fundraising appeal that gives parents, volunteers and community members an opportunity to provide financial support to the Chippewa Valley Council.

This year the Council will spend more that $127 per Scout involved in the program.

WHAT IS THE MONEY USED FOR?

Services provided with FOS money include:
Council office Day Camp
Field Staff and support (Clerical) staff Camporees
Adult leader training Klondike Derbies
Leader roundtables Newsletters
Scouting for Food Camperships and other financial assistance
Camp Programs Registration materials and processing

HOW CAN I BECOME A FRIEND OF SCOUTING

  • Request an FOS pledge card from the Council Service Center
  • If your employeer has a matching gift program, please indicate this on your pledge card.
  • You may pay by cash, check or Visa/Master Card. You may also defer payment until later in the year.

PROJECT SALES AND IN KIND DONATIONS

A Project Sale is defined as money that is given to the Council for a specific budget item.

A detailed list of items appropriate for such sponsorship follows.

GIFT - IN - KIND

Gifts-in-Kind contributions do not include a cash contribution; they must however, still be in support of a specific budgeted item. Gift-in-kind are only useful if they meet certain specifications.
Gifts-in-Kind are separated into two categories.

Gift-in-Kind Services
Donated services are useful to offset costs that have been budgeted. Some examples are:
Printing of the newsletter (for free)
Printing of the program calendars (for free)
Printing of the FOS brochure (for free)
Snowplowing at the office (for free)
Lawn mowing (for free)

Gift-in-Kind Items
Gift-in-Kind contributions do not involve a cash contribution. Those items donated must however, be items that have been included in the Chippewa Valley Council Budget.
