CUB SCOUT RANK UPDATE - The National Boy Scouts of America recently shared an update providing for some increased flexibility with Adventures for Cub Scout dens. Effective Nov. 30th, some adventure requirements that were previously mandatory will become optional. Units can choose to complete the now optional requirements as they would have previously. Units can also choose to adopt the new requirements which allow Adventures to be completed in approximately two meetings per month. The goal is to make advancement achievable by all Cub Scouts.  The new requirements will be posted in a free addendum available at:

Units can contact the Scout Service Center (715-832-6671) for a printed copy of the new requirements or with further questions.


2017 UNIVERSITY OF SCOUTING - All Scouting volunteers and Scout parents are invited to save the date for the Chippewa Valley Council’s University of Scouting!  Join us for a fun, inspiring, and educational day.  Participants will be able to choose from a variety of one-hour sessions designed to help them learn new ways they can impact youth through Scouting.  Join us on May 13, 2017 for a variety of classes including topics like: outdoor cooking; technology in Scouting; planning outdoor treks; advancement; building a Pack/Troop committee; and much, much more.  Save the date of 5/13/17 and keep your eyes open for further details in the coming months.


WOOD BADGE 2017WB
The Chippewa Valley Council will hold a Wood Badge course in August and September 2017.  This life-changing program allows for Scouters to grow in their leadership skills to better help youth.  For more information, click here: Wood Badge


ANNUAL CALENDAR & PROGRAM GUIDEBOOKS
Planning resources for the upcoming year of Scouting are now available. These include:
*2016-2017 Council Calendar:  lists upcoming events such as trainings, camporees, key summer camp dates, banquets.
*Cub Scout Calendar: simplified version of the Council Calendar which shows just the items pertinent to Cub Scout Packs such as trainings, popcorn sale dates, Cub World camp dates, and Cub Scout activities.
*Cub Scout Guidebook contains information on unit planning, the Journey to Excellence program, Cub World summer camp, adult leader training, School Night for Scouting, and much more.
*Boy Scout Guidebook contains information on unit planning, the Journey to Excellence program, Boy Scout camp, high adventure and much more.
